Trade Mutilation

Breaking news...!!! Well maybe not so breaking, but news at any rate. The Lakers have traded F Vladimir Radmonovich for F Adam Morrison and G Shannon Brown. You knew something was going to happen soon. Vlade seemed to be the most clueless guy whenever he was actually on the court. He was good for a 3 pointer or two every 5 games or so. He didn't really defend, didn't really offend, so lets call him what he is...trash.

Enter A Morrison and S Brown into the mix. Shannon Brown seems like he will be a fairly decent backup at PG. He has had some decent games this year, with his 14pt effort against the Lakers fresh in our memories. Not sure what to make of A Morrison however. He and JJ Redick of the Magic were 2 of the most highly touted players in all of college in 2006. Gonzaga had a date to dance in the final 4, but J Farmar had other ideas....

So you wonder at this point what difference if any Morrison can make. As a fan of basketball i say none at all.. I mean.. this guy has been a total bust since day 1 and has shown no sign of getting any better. He is.. in a word.. trash. So as Mattie B would say when we take both sides of the equation here this is how we summarize this trade:

Trash = Trash

The only thing I might be able to salvage from this is the possibility that Morrison is a decent ball handler cuz let's face it.. Walton is horrible...tries to thread needles with passes that have absolutely no chance of making it to their destination. He's not quick, he can't score on a regular basis and I think we all know how I feel about his alleged basketball IQ. So just maybe Morrison can be put in to handle the ball and run the offense without turning it over.. maybe then in a leap from the lions's head.. will he prove his worth
