Disaster Averted

Instead of talking about how badly 24 played Thursday night, we are talking about when he will get HIS statue. Instead of again having to refer to our power forward from Spain as "soft" , we watched him weep tears of joy and ecstasy. Instead of wondering what might have been had we kept Trevor, we are wondering if we would've won without Ron. Instead of Allen blowing by Sasha for an uncontested layup, Sasha is now knocking down clutch free throws while Ray can only watch. Instead of frustration, there is joy and hope.
We all watched in disbelief for three quarters Thursday night until finally the Lakers realized instead of being history they would make history. Ten years from now it will be Ron for 3, Fish sticking a dagger in another cities' heart. And it will be Pau Gasol, defending and rebounding until he can't any longer. It will be about eleven other men sticking up for Kobe Bryant, just like he has stuck up for them on countless occasions before.
So here's to # 16, it wasn't easy...but maybe that's why it feels so good.
