These preseason rankings are based on Carmelo and Chris Paul staying with their current teams...
Eastern Conference Playoff teams :
Miami Heat - Not only is Lebron on a mission, but Chris Bosh will be forgotten on most opponents' gameplan and will blow up this year. Still questioning their depth, but the "big 3" want a ring. Bad.
Boston Celtics - the Lakers offensive rebounding in games' 6 and 7 did in the Celts so they went out and got size (Oneal brothers) to go with their vets.
Orlando Magic - still can't believe they waited to be down 3-0 to Boston before they started playing last year. They have a roster that's been together now and they know how to pace themselves.
Chicago Bulls - I watched them play the other night and it's going to be tough for them to put points on the board. Lucky for them their new coach Thibadeau preached defense. And Boozer will give Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah a low post threat.
Atlanta Hawks - what they do in the regular season means NOTHING. The last two years they have been blown out bad. Then they gave a decent player, Joe Johnson, superstar money.
Milwaukee Bucks - they can't sneak up on anybody this year. Brandon Jennings = sophomore slump??
New York Knicks - Amare ...100 mil...no defense. How soon before the NY faithful boo Amare for the first time? That being said, he makes a difference. Especially in the East.
Indiana Pacers- this team has had back to back seasons decimated by injury. They picked up James Posey and Collison to go with underrated Danny Granger. They make it to the dance this year.
Lotto Bound......
New Jersey Nets - they are closer than you would think. If they pick up Melo without giving up too much, put them in the post season
Washington Wizards - John Wall rookie of the year..but still a few players away from playoff-land
Charlotte Bobcats - MJ's cats made it last year. And literally added nobody in the offseason.
Philly 76ers - Doug Collins has a collection of SF's and SG's ..and not much up front and poor point guard play
Toronto Raptors- whoever is the projected # 1 pick in college in 2010-11, pack your bags for Toronto.
Detroit Pistons - or Detroit
Cleveland Cavaliers - or Cleveland
