Us giving it to Mitch in the Summer of 2007. (SRT not pictured as he was catching up on some zzzz's)
As with all new blogs, I thought I'd share some background on the contributors:
SRT - Specialist on the LAKERS, DODGERS, GALAXY, and of course, the USC TROJANS. Known for destroying 120 oz's in less than an hour, SRT will bring it anytime it's needed. Favorite Lakers moment, this is always debatable but I would imagine it to be game 4 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals. Kobe driving to the basket on Doug Christie, puts up the shot and misses. Shaq there for the rebound but misses the EASY putback. Vlade taps the ball out to the 3 point line straight away. Guess who's there... Mr. BOB HORRY. Horry for the 3...... GOOD! Bye bye Sactown. You had your moment.
Mattie B - Mr Stats and Laker historian. He can give you any stats you need about the Lakers. Ask him who was on the Lakers in 1988, he'll name each and every one. If you need a stat about a players assist to turnover ratio, he's got it in his head. A true analyst. Mattie B knows the college game as well. Last year when we attended a Lakers game, he told me to make sure I include Memphis in my final 4 pick. Whattaya know....Memphis went to the final 4 and choked in the championship game. I'm not sure what his favorite Laker moment was, but I would guess it would be game 4 of the 1987 Lakers/Boston Finals. Magic's junior skyhook over Kevin McHale.
GYIP - A Lakers fan since the 1980's. Loved the Fabulous forum and it's 17,505 capacity. I am a loyal fan who will live and die by this team. A good mood win they win, a grumpy mood when the lose. I take this team to heart. My loyalty runs deep, bro. My favorite Lakers moment happened during Game 6 in the 2000 NBA Championship. My crazy friend Steve decided that it would be cool to hang out outside Staples Center and watch the game on the big screen. Well we weren't alone and pretty soon, thousands of people lined Chick Hearn Way to watch us beat the Indiana Pacers. What happened after was pretty much insane. There were cars on fire and riots in downtown LA. It was crazy but just a memorable moment.
Enjoy the blog!
