Mid Summer Reflections

I was happy to see Mattie b's post. Whenever I see that he's posted.. i feel like im either going to A) learn something or B) feel the need to post as well.. In this case it's both.

I agree we had a solid SPL.. apologies for insisting we walk to Venetian.. i feel that decision may have ended mattie b's night.. nevertheless he bounced back with a strong showing on sunday.. put it all on the line to claim Mirage and I think none of us were disappointed.

Yipper threw us a curve ball with a mysterious wedding he had to not only attend, but participate in.. how one forgets that we will never know.. I remember seeing my phone ring and thinking..here we go... he's done.. but instead of throwing in the towel he made it happen and he might have set a personal best in oz's..

gustavo as we all know always comes strong.. gets his message across in a nonviolent manner.. reminds the general public there is definitely a 1st amendment.. and represents to the fullest extreme.. cant think of anyone else that would start a brawl on kobe v lebron at 6am... cant really think of anybody that could even find people to argue with at 6am but somehow gus always comes through..

the countdown is already on for 2011.. a year that we are threatened with a lockout.. im not sure how everybody feels about it if that happens.. its still pretty far away.. but something to consider..

I think the roundtable will continue to evolve.. last year from yips video evidence we pondered the format of the roundtable.. this year we attempted it.. and im sure next year we will somehow take it to the next level.. im working on a tv contract with the mirage to broadcast live over the internet (not really).. im just sayin its going nowhere but up.

I also say we use all of our available means to have another roundtable DURING the season.. to think we would all meet up in the hood just to discuss lakers is silly.. but the parking lot on a certain campus at 8am would provide the perfect background and setting for discussing all things lakers.. we have some serious roster additions this yr.. a roster that i honestly believe is better than what we won with.. its worth a possible season opening roundtable.. or even a preseason session..

I think its safe to say out of all the people we know.. we put the most thought into LAL and what is happening, not happening or going to happen.. I think we've all seen through facebook how many idiots there are out there.. and if you're like me when someone comes up and starts wanting to rap LAL you tune out after the 2nd word because you know its wholeheartedly stupid and not worth your attention at all.. when we all speak we all respect each others' history, statistical blends and video footage.. i for one enjoy it to the fullest... from yips toast.. to mattie b's change of heart RE: greatest laker of all time to gus not making any sense at all.. and he doesnt have to make sense.. i dont think anybody would doubt this guy bleeds LA sports... i love to see what he has to say...

All good things may come to an end.. I hope this is something that has a solid run before it's day is up.. i look forward to sharing the field of battle with you guys again.. hopefully sooner than later.. in the parking lot..
